And dude! Lisa and Laura and I have joined forces to bring you some amazing LIKE MANDARIN events this week.
1. NON-blogfest on Wednesday, March 16. You can blog about who you would have given anything to be like when you were a teenager. Use this graphic, and make sure you participate in Kirsten's "I Would Have Given Anything To Be Like..." blog tour. You could win a LIKE MANDARIN swag pack and/or a signed copy of the book.
If you participate in the NON-blogfest (there will be no Linky! This is not a blog-fest! However, if you email me your link, I will tweet it. Better yet, tweet it yourself--see #2 below), you'll be entered for a copy of the book as per Kirsten's guidelines.
Win/Win.
2. Twitter. Use the hashtag #IWantToBeLike any time this week, and you could win one of two copies of LIKE MANDARIN. LiLa and I will both draw one winner on Saturday, March 19 from the #IWantToBeLike feed for a copy of this amazing book.
3. Stay tuned on my blog--as well as Lisa and Laura's--this week for other fun LIKE MANDARIN giveaways!
If you can't participate, and even if you can, who would you have given anything to be like?
Very creative! And I loved the pictures. I miss those wide open spaces! ;)
ReplyDeleteThere's no question that Kirsten is gorgeous, but I hear her writing is equally beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAre those reindeer in that last photo? They look especially creepy for some reason.
I'll be talking about my Mandarin on Wednesday.
Wow, she really is beautiful!! And SO photogenic.
ReplyDeleteAnd those wide open spaces!!! This book is on my list to buy!
I've heard great things about LIKE MANDARIN. That's great you are spotlighting it.
ReplyDeleteLast night, I wrote the post. I'm ready to go!
ReplyDeleteLove the photographs. Well, maybe not the animal head one.
Im gunna go check her out! She is super pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about the non-blogfest and true to form my post is already set and scheduled for the big day!!
ReplyDeleteKirsten is so beautiful she would have been someone I would have wanted to be like when I was in High School... love how photogenic she is (also hate it).
I can't wait for this one!
ReplyDeleteAnd those photos are beautiful!
Ha! You're have to wait till Wednesday for my answer. Turns out it was easier to come up with the person than I originally thought. And it didn't end up being Jon Bon Jovi after all. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've got my post for the non-blogfest ready for Wednesday too!
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first few pages, but Kirsten's words draw you in completely - absolutely lovely. :)
I'm in the middle of reading Like Mandarin now. It's simply BEAUTIFUL. It's one of my favorite books I have read in some time! I'm DROOLING over the language and setting. So GOOD.
ReplyDeleteWow. Great pictures. What a fun event. Love your creativity. :)
ReplyDeleteWho would I have given anything to be like? Boy, that's a tough one. Can I pick parts of a few people?
I'd love to have my Mother In Law's strength--she's battling liver cancer.
I'd want part of my hubby's dedication--he's training for a full iron man race.
Lastly, I'd love just a fraction of Esther's courage--she's a character in the Bible who stood up against incredible odds and landed on her feet.
Great post!
She's even more beautiful in person! And totally sweet too. And I just started MANDARIN last night, and, to steal one of your phrases Elana, Oh. My. Heck. It is absolutely gorgeous. And stunning. And perfect. Hmm...I think I might want to be Kirsten Hubbard too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this, it sounds amazing and holy cow, she's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOooo.... Pretty pictures!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, I never wanted to be like another person that badly. What I wanted was to be like the characters in my books.
I'm totally blogging about that on Wednesday...
Yeah, if I didn't already follow her blog and know that she's so cool, I would be a hater. I always have my eyes closed or at least one of them and my husband calls me lazy eye all day. Not cool.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this book. What beautiful pics you found. Oh and I think the former creepy crawlies are called jack-a-lopes. And Mathew, they're not real. LOL.
Wow, she is photogenic (so lucky). How cool about her book! I can't wait to read it. =D
ReplyDeleteNot only is Kirsten gorgeous, but she's so sweet. Plus, I hear, an amazing writer. I can't wait to read Like Mandarin!
ReplyDeleteKirsten is gorgeous! My hair has way too much body to be cut that short but she rocks it!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading this book. I've heard such great things about it, and I've heard great things about Kirsten, so that makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!! I can't wait to read Kirsten's book!! Love the non-blogfest idea.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who I wanted to be like. I'm going to have to give this some thought!
ReplyDeleteWow, she's seriously gorgeous, and I love her title. Maybe I want to be like her? :)

ReplyDeleteElana--you are so sweet! I love how you've graciously introduced us all to to Kirsten. And she is totally beautiful. Sigh. There is so much wonderful news around the blogosphere!! YAY!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Kirsten is awesome, but so are you. There are a lot of people that would aspire to be you too. Once again you've proven you're a true and tireless literary buddy and great friend! And that's pretty terrific.
ReplyDeleteThis is super cool!
ReplyDeleteI've often thought about who I would be if I could be anyone...seriously, I'd stay myself...but a lot thinner, LOL! ;)-
OOoo! Awesome! She has Possession!!! Narg!
ReplyDeleteOoh, exciting! As if Like Mandarin's release wasn't exciting enough, this non-blogfest sounds like it will be a blast.
