Well, Christine's second book was officially released on May 1. And it's fantastic. But instead of listening to me (which I'm sure you're sick of), I'm going to let my 12-year-old son take the mic for a minute.
His review of Christine's 101 Success Secrets for Gifted Kids: I really like this book because it had many great tips and tricks to be successful in school and life.
I really liked one of the tricks it is called the Hula Hoop Trick. It says that you should imagine that there is a hula hoop on the ground and you can only control yourself which is inside the hula hoop everything outside of the hula hoop you can't control like what people think about you. I thought that was interesting.
I recommend this book to all gifted kids out there and parents and teachers of gifted kids. (I solemnly swear that I didn't edit this. Please tell me you can tell!)
And here's Christine with some of her favorite things!
So. You seriously need this book, and you need to follow Christine on twitter and her blog.

It sounds like a great book for a gifted kid and their parents. That's awesome you two are such good friends even though you've never met.
ReplyDeleteEep! I love that your son reviewed the book. THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU!
ReplyDeleteI loved Christine's book EMOTIONAL INTENSITY IN GIFTED CHILDREN. It really spoke in specific terms about the challenges that intense kids face--and I still don't know how she got into my house without us seeing her. :) I'd love to win this one. Good luck to you both!
ReplyDeleteI somehow managed to respond to the wrong post.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, both of these books sound fabulous! I think I'll pick them up for my 10-year-old gifted son, if I don't win it, that is.
I love your son's review. He must have the writer gene.
Put my name in the hat! Sounds fantastic!!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in contest. Sounds like a really good book. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteThe hula hoop is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThe world needs more of this. I hope Christina sells tons.
ReplyDeleteYea! What a great review! He did an awesome job! :)
ReplyDeleteReally awesome review. And yes we can tell you didn't edit it. He did a great job by himself, obviously negating the need for any editing (hmm, wonder where he gets THAT talent - oh wait, from his talented Mom).
ReplyDeleteAnd a Woohoo for Christine! You're super-fantabulous.
This book sounds like something I need... both for my own kids and for my sibling who is still in school.
ReplyDeleteReviews by kids are my favorite. I always read them. More than any other reviews! Your son had a great one!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure the hula-hoop trick would work for me. As I imagine what is in the hula-hoop or out of it, my hips might subconsciously gyrate and no one would talk to me.
ReplyDeleteI was (am?) a gifted kid and I could TOTALLY use this book... I like the hula-hoop trick. Definitely need to remember it this week, with so much happening out of my control.
ReplyDeleteI've heard lots of good things about this book. Why don't I own it yet?
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds great. I definately need to read it.
ReplyDeleteNice. The book sounds awesome! Congrats:)
ReplyDeleteI have it. I love it. Great job to Elana's kiddo. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's so amazing that your son reviewed it! No better endorsement than that! Congrats Christine on another fabulous book. :)
ReplyDeleteI will check it out right away!
ReplyDeleteBy the way--have you heard that my 1st novel is being released on Amazon.com tomorrow?! Check it out on my blog! Have a wonderful Cinco De Mayo honey! Kori xoxo

What an interesting book! I have a niece and a few nephews I can recommend it to.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, lil Johnson boy!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been meaning to get this book to enrich my kids!
I need this book--my gifted kid is getting harder to keep up with as she has entered middle school. She's already plotting boarding school for high school!
ReplyDeleteWe need more success here!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome book! I am a homeschoolin mom and it sounds like it has some great tips to use. :O)
