Okay, so I love this book. It's called CITY OF A THOUSAND DOLLS and it's by Miriam Forster. You have to get it!
About CITY OF A THOUSAND DOLLS: Nisha was abandoned at the gates of the City of a Thousand Dolls when she was just a little girl. Now sixteen, she lives on the grounds of the isolated estate, where orphan girls apprentice as musicians, healers, courtesans, and, if the rumors are true, assassins. She makes her way as Matron's errand girl, her closest companions the mysterious cats that trail her shadow. Only when she begins a forbidden flirtation with the city's handsome young courier does she let herself imagine a life outside the walls. Until one by one, girls around her start to die.
Before she becomes the next victim, Nisha decides to uncover the secrets that surround the girls' deaths. But by getting involved, Nisha jeopardizes not only her own future in the City of a Thousand Dolls—but also her life.
It's so good, you guys! It's different than anything you've read before, and it's beautiful. I can't remember what my blurb on the back (that's right! HarperTeen asked me to read it for an endorsement, and I couldn't say yes fast enough!) says, but it's probably something like, "This is an amazing book, and everyone who likes fabulous storytelling (and kissing) should read it."
But probably not that. Something more professional. Ha!
Because I love this book so much, I'm giving it to one of you luckies! I'm giving an eCopy, so either for your Nook or Kindle. All you have to do is follow me or follow Miriam -- or both -- on twitter. If you want to tweet at us that you entered and are excited about CITY OF THOUSAND DOLLS, do it!

Have you ever read a book you just want everyone else to read? What was it?
So agree with you Elana. I got the ARC from Miriam's publisher for her interview this week (also giving it away) and looked at it for a minute thinking I'd read it later. I couldn't put it down. It was so good.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for Miriam. I've been following her blog for years and it's great watching her move into being a published author. Like it's been awesome watching you do that too.
I wouldn't expect a lot of kissing from that awesome cover, but even with all the kissing, it sounds pretty awesome, so I entered!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Matt, like guys don't like kissing. lol
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome. I'm adding it to my to-read list.
Sounds like a really good book. I'll need to check into it.
ReplyDeleteNatalie talked about this book earlier and if both of you are endorsing it, I need to get a copy!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really great book. I really liked Mistress of the Stone by Maria Zannini. Not a YA book at all but the writing, the plot the whole everything kept me turning the pages like crazy. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about how fab this book is, can't wait to read it! :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read but no ereader :( Hopefully I'll win the copy they're giving away at Literary Rambles :)
ReplyDeleteI have been dying for this book!
ReplyDeleteThe title is very fetching and the cover is wonderfully done. Thank you for posting about this.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at fabulous kissing. :) This looks awesome.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to read this one
ReplyDeleteI love the cover and blurb for the book! It sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteI still have an ARC of this that I haven't read!! Argh!! It sounds awesome, but I've moved twice in the last 6 months and things are crazy. Now that things are finally settling down and I recently unearthed it, I look forward to reading it. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteAnd Amazon gift card...spent!
ReplyDeleteLooks (and sounds) awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually into heavy romance plots (though as a subplot they're okay for me, and really I haven't read this one yet so I don't know how heavy the romance plot is), but the premise of this book sounds really intriguing and I heard a lot of good things about it. It's definitely up there on my reading list!
