Surrender, Surrender

Okay, first there's this:

You can click on that and listen while you read. You'll like it. (I KILL on this song on Guitar Hero. K-I-L-L.)

Second this:

It's hard to believe that my second book is coming out soon. Don't they look pretty next to each other?

Third, if you are a book blogger/reviewer, teacher, librarian, Simon & Schuster has SURRENDER on their Galley Grab now. This will be an e-galley.

If you're not any of those things (or if you are and don't want an e-galley), you can sign up to be considered for an ARC of SURRENDER by filling out this form.

Fourth, the POSSESSION paperback comes out on May 8. You can preorder here!

Fifth, this has all be promotional, so I'll just throw in that I dyed my hair a week or so ago and almost died when I saw that the dye was this funky blue/purple color. Upon closer inspection, I realized I'd bought the "blue black reflective" dye. My hair has a slight blue shimmer when viewed in the sun. I wish it was like this:

But I teach kindergarten, so...

Maybe in June. Maybe around JUNE 5. Maybe for the LAUNCH PARTY of SURRENDER on/near JUNE 5.

I'm looking forward to having SURRENDER out in the wild! I really loved writing this book, and I can't wait to share it with everyone.

What are you looking forward to?

I can slay that song on Guitar Hero as well! Covers look great together. I know you're excited about your second book. And you know what I'm looking forward to!

Your book and to hear back from agents with my partials and fulls (well maybe. That depends on what they have to say). :D

Your covers look absolutely stunning side by side!! How exciting, Elana!! Congrats!

Matching covers is so important. That is your style now, Elana.

I bet your students would like that hair.

Love your covers. I can't wait to read Surrender. And get to the point of querying.

Gosh, those covers look stunning together.

Is that Adam Lambert, or Jag Barque?

Yes, your covers look good side by side. :)

I love blue/black hair with a shimmer.

Huge congrats!! June 5th really isn't that far away. (And happy half-way-through-the-school-year day!) How cool will that be to see your book in paperback also?

Ooo! Slight blue shimmer! I've always wanted to put an unnatural color in my hair, but yeah, working at an elementary school definitely puts the brakes on that.

*Flails*

I cannot even tell you how excited I am for this release. No words.

Signed up for an e-galley and am crossing my fingers. Either way, planning a giveaway, just because you rule so hard.

I'd go for the hair now, BTW. Street cred never hurts when you're a teacher, right?

I love the new cover. It looks beautiful next to the Possession cover.

I'm looking forward to getting my crit back so that I can finish editing part 2/10.

Have a great weekend!

Dude...I SO WANT TO COME to your launch again. Sadly, with the new job, pretty certain it isn't gonna happen. :(

Glad to hear book 2 is almost here Elana.

Ha, we are pretty boring folks, but even the Mrs. has a crazy hair-dye story with me playing a prominent role.

The covers look great next to each other!

What am I looking forward to? Um, my editorial letter for Touch of Death. No, wait, I'm terrified of that!

I love how the covers compliment each other so well. And blue-black hair is awesome.

2012 got here quicker than anyone expected so June 5th will be here soon.

So exciting!!

I love seeing those book covers side by side. If anyone wasn't already aware of the theme, pattern and style, they should be now.

I'm looking forward to each day, making steady progress and reading more books :-)

I really want a picture of your cool hair color because I'm a chicken and dabble in the various hues of brown. Also, your covers look beautiful next to each other. And I love that Surrender comes out in the summer because then I can get right to it :)

The covers are so beautiful! The first one is already on my wish list. :) I love your hair, also. You are brave - I couldn't do it! (or pull it off lol)

I'm looking forward to SURRENDER!! The down side is that S&S doesn't have Kindle friendly eGalleys. *so sad* I'm also looking forward to PANDEMONIUM and INSURGENT and the second BEYONDERS books.

I'm trying not to squeal in a staff meeting because I'm so excited it's preorder time for Surrender. I've been DYING since Possession ended to see what happens.

Dude, I am looking forward to reading Surrender. Also, I really want to see your hair now. Blue shimmer sounds WAY cool. Seriously.

Personally looking forward to a bunch of personal and professional milestones. I will hit them this year. Determined.

The covers look awesome together!! And even more awesome on a bookshelf I'm sure :D

My hair had a blue sheen to it a while back. I've been trying to decide between doing blue or red again...think I'll do blue! Thanks :D

Those are great covers! :) I love it when books in series match.

Yes indeed. The two books look so good together. Congrats! The S&S galley grab didn't work. I'm surprised because I've received stuff through that source in the past. I will get my hands on that book!

Michelle D. Argyle said...

Congratulatins! I am getting closer to reading your first book. I can't wait. :)

Donna K. Weaver said...

Yay, Elana. So exciting that you've got a release date. Must be so satisfying.

Can't wait to see you with blue streaks in your hair.

In June, of course. Especially if you work for the ASD. lol

Larissa said...

I did not realize you taught kindergarten! :) LOL. I teach Pre-K.

Anyway, your covers are AMAZING together. I'm so excited for you! :)

I think the new cover looks awesome and I LOVE the idea of your hair being blue-black. How cool is that?! And what's wrong with blue-black hair in front of kindergarten kids? It's not like you're pushing smartie-snuff on them or anything. ;)

I didn't know you teach kindergarten! I teach second grade and you are making me believe that it's actually possible to write YA successfully and be a teacher too. What I find hard is the image I have to portray as a primary teacher compared with the darkness of my WIP (cutting, agony, etc.)
