Tell the Truth Tuesday: Zombie Flu Edition

Holy Undead, Batman! It's amazing how completely ruined I was last week. I'm thankful for all the well-wishes, but mostly, I'm thankful for:

1. Codeine.
2. Antibiotics.
3. My bed and pillow.
4. Water.
5. Chap-stick.
6. Fast food.
7. Sick days.
8. Substitutes.
9. My family.
10. Ally Condie and Carrie Ryan. (For making Wednesday fun.)

ZOMBIES! I am actually scared of myself in this picture...
(And those are some fabulous Utah book bloggers, and Utah authors Brodi Ashton and Bree Despain!)

Things I Know I Missed:
1. The WriteOnCon chat of awesome.
2. Anything pop culture related.
3. Commenting on your blogs.

As a result of #3, tell me! What's going on with you right now? What are you most thankful for this uh, tax season?

I hate when the flu takes me out for a week! It seems like such a long time! Glad you are feeling better! :) Nice pix.

Glad you're feeling better. Funny that you mention the taxes--I hope my husband does ours today.

I'm grateful my blogging is going well and I'm interviewing lots of debut authors, trying to help promote them.

Sorry you had to miss a few things. Especially WriteOnCon.

Love the pictures. And love your nod to substitutes, of course.

What's up with me?

My 17-year anniversary is coming up this weekend.

On Friday, a few teachers had a breakfast for me and one class had a surprise party for me.

Yesterday was my last official day at the job. We transitioned.

Today is my last day, sort of, because I have to tally the report grades that aren't due until next week, even though the grade book is caught up. And I have to return for 2-3 hours next week to do the parent-teacher conferences Unpaid.

I love the feeling of coming out of an illness--it reminds me of how lucky I am to be healthy, and how good that actually feels. I'm so glad you're on the mend!

I'm trying to not let my real life completely hose my writing life. URGH.

I'm most thankful that I get to go on a 2day conference (where I'll get time to edit my WIP) and then school holidays begin! (teacher cheer) and I can start my next MG - My Zombie Dog. :-)

Glad your doing better. Like you, I missed the WriteOnCon chat, too (although not due to illness).

Hope you have a great week!

I is so jealous of all the awesome you had. Love the zombie picture! It almost makes me want to write a zombie book just so we can do silly things like that.... Hmmm what if I wrote about pirates... oh yes!!! That would be fun.

So glad you're feeling better! I'm thankful to be visiting Ireland. Now if it would just stop raining ...

Oh, yeah. This is Ireland.

Duh!

Zombie colds are the WORST!

And yeah, you kind of scare me in that picture, too. :o

Hehehe!

I actually revealed the cover for my book yesterday! Fun stuff!

I'm glad you're feeling better, Elana! (at least, I'm assuming you are) :)

Okay, EJ, you literally just scared the crap out of me in that bottom photo.

But, you look AMAZING in the top one. What a smile!

I'm just thankful my taxes are done. And that I haven't gotten the creeping flu yet. (knock on wood) I'm glad you're feeling better. I missed seeing you around the interwebs.

I'm so glad you're feeling better! The worst part about being sick, besides the actual being sick, is not even being able to put the time in bed to good use! Daytime T.V. stinks, and it never fails that if I'm sick, my to-be-read list doesn't rock.

Glas you're back!

I saw Carrie on her book tour as well (and Saundra Mitchell), which was so much fun. I wish now that we had taken a zombie picture. You look formidible. :)
I also missed WriteOnCon and I got on twitter last night fifteen minutes after it closed and was gutted. totally forgot.
What else...I'm at that 30,000 mark with my book and am resorting to mapping out the rest because I feel I'm going to lose it. Nevermind.

Love your pictures E, and glad you're feeling better! Me? I'm wondering how in the world my son turned 7 yesterday. He was like, a baby last week.

Oh, no - TAX SEASON! Why did you have to remind me? (Seriously, thanks for reminding me - I need to get on that!)

Hmm... I'm grateful that my kids are well again, and that the weather is warming up. It feels good to go outside again, and I don't feel like I have to put on a coat just to open the door and check the mail. I'm really thankful for that!

Well I'm thankful that this semester is nearly over, taxes were done a long time ago, and that when it snows it is now melting the same day. The newest thing that is happening to me is that I changed my blog idea once again. I am very excited about it because it now talks about the psychology behind characters.

Aw, glad you are back in the land of the living, getting sick SUCKS! Love the list and awesome pic of you and Ally!

Hmm, well I'm going to see the Foo Fighters 3D movie/concert tonight which I'm excited about.

I'm reading City of Fallen Angels by Cassie Clare, and my b-day is Sunday (we'll just leave out the age), so yeah, things are pretty decent. Now ask me again next week... LOL!

Feel better, girl!
I'm down with the sickness too, but sounds like you have it worse than me! Rest up!

I'm thankful that I finished my draft last month and my taxes a couple months ago.

But you know what, I suddenly had a spurt of visitors to my blog and now I'm averaging over 17 a day. For me, that's awesome.

I'm also grateful for google and weird searches that bring people to my blog.

Wait, you were dead last week? Does that mean you missed my Elana-ish Vocabulary blog post? Nooooo! I swear, you'd like it.

Man, I'm sorry you were so sick. That is just awful. THank heavens for medicine and that whole big list you made. ;) I am grateful that I'm still pregnant, after having a scare on Saturday. This baby needs to stay put for at least a couple more months!

Jenilyn Collings said...

I'm pretty scared of all of us in that zombie picture! Even more frightening, I think that's the most flattering picture of me that was taken that night. Yikes!

Nicole Zoltack said...

I'm glad you're feeling better!

What's new with me? Well, I went to a conference two weekends ago and had a pitch session with an agent. She asked for the 1st 3 chapters which I sent and now I'm waiting for the response.

Lydia Sharp said...

So glad you're feeling better! *hugs*

I actually do have some news to share today! Thanks for asking. :)

I just found out another of my short stories has been accepted for publication! This will be my first pubbed sci-fi story; all the previous ones have been fantasy. So excited!

April is turning out to be a stellar month so far. Yay for spring!

I'm thankful for summer being only 9 weeks away and for baseball season being back in full swing!! :-)

Tracey Neithercott said...

Of everyone in that bottom photo, you're the creepiest. While everyone else is pretending, you look like you're seriously about to attack. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. :)

And, uhh, taxes.

So good to have you back. Glad you're feeling better. You look more like a real zombie in that picture than anyone else. So kudos to you.

Glad you're back. I'm thankful our accountant called to tell us our taxes are done :) We are getting ready to head to New Orleans for a long weekend and won't be back till the day before taxes are due. Other than that, just writing, querying, blogging, reading...the usual :)

Taffy said...

Hey missy! It's good to have you back. For a few days anyways, then you're off to NY! FUN. I expect loads of pics and an update when I see you in May.

L. Diane Wolfe said...

You were sick, too? Bleah. One week of Oregon then a week of being sick.

Marsha Sigman said...

Glad you're better!

I am most thankful for my computer and Zyrtec for allergies.

Right now, I'm thankful for an awesome accountant. Bless this man for being much smarter than I am! He saves my bacon each year. Glad you're doing better, Elana. I'm a big fan of antibiotics and ibuprophen myself. Here's to your quick, full recovery. (My son loooves zombies!)

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm thankful that my taxes are already done.

I'm sorry you were sick. That is just NO fun!! Glad you're up and around again.

I'm thankful for pillows, my friends, books, and my hubby. I had a small surgical procedure on Friday and have been laid up since. My hubby's taken such great care of me. My friends have cooked me meals while I've been laid up and tripping on Percocet. But thank goodness for books. Reading helps the time pass!!

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm just coming back to blog-o-land myself.

I'm thankful that this is my Dad's 70th birthday. There was a time a few years back when we weren't sure he'd see this day. But he's going strong.
