Some Things...

Okay, so sometimes life comes at you full force. Last week was one of those weeks. In short:

Monday: Washing machine breaks down mid-cycle. I go to the laundromat. For any of you who have to do this regularly, my condolences. I realize how blessed and fortunate I've been for the past 15 years having my own washer and dryer.

Tuesday: Washing machine repairman says it'll cost $500 to fix the washer.

Also Tuesday: The ice maker goes on the fritz (again). Pull out fridge (I've actually cleaned behind it recently, so this isn't as disgusting as you might be thinking!), and inspect the line. Everything looks good, and things go well, if not a little wet because that water line wasn't all the way off...

Wednesday: Husband's car won't shift out of park. Watch YouTube videos. Go to automotive store and buy part. Begin drive home...

Then this:

Thursday/Friday: Talk to a billionty people about the car accident, the insurance, medical appointments, rental cars, etc. etc. We were in the car alone (no kids, thank goodness!), and we walked away. There's the normal aches and pains and stuff, but all in all, we are alive and healthy.

This week, we're going on vacation. I'm not quite ready for it because of the firestorm that was last week, but mentally, I'm already there. Ha!

Have you had weeks like this? And hey, isn't this what we do to our characters in our novels? "Hey, you think this is bad?? Just wait five more pages... *cackle*" I mean, seriously.

Yucky! I've totally had those weeks. In fact, I feel as if something like is going to come my way very soon. Hopefully your post doesn't jinx that!

Yes, I just went through a week like that too. First one car died and had to be towed and a few days later our other car died and we had to replace the battery.

Glad no one was hurt in the accident. Have a great vacation.

I was reading along, thinking boo, boo, boo, what the @#%*! Glad you guys are okay? Hope this week is better, because if not, you might want to consider investing in a bubble or something.

I heard about your accident and I'm so, so, so glad you are okay. And yes, we do this crap to our characters all the time on a much higher level, even! But that's fiction. I'm glad I don't live inside fiction. :)

We had a week like that too. What is it with washers and cars breaking down at the same time. I'm glad you are okay. So sad for your car. Is it salvageable or do you get to do what we just did and be forced to find a new car.

Those kinds of things always come in groups! So glad you're all okay. Enjoy your well deserved vacation :)

Oh man, I knew about the accident, but the laundry thing puts your week even more firmly in the "crazy/unfair" category. So sorry for the bad week~ hope vacation is WONDERFUL to make up for it :)

Yikes! I'm so glad you walked away from that accident because the poor car obviously did not. :-(

Vacation time will be good for you to de-frag given all you've been through from the previous week. Please enjoy it to the best of your ability :-)

Oh no! I'm glad everyone's okay. I've definitely had weeks like that. Your line about this being what we do to our characters all the time made me laugh. ;)

Dude. We should NEVER have to go through what we put our characters through. So sorry your week was like a book! And I'm glad you're okay. You're really going to need that vacation!

OMG! After a week like that you need a vacation! Usually my calamities are spread out--like one a week--so I can't ever totally relax, but I'm not losing my mind.

Holy Cow! You had a week and a half!! Glad you walked away from that because THAT, my friend, is scary stuff.

I may have had weeks similar in nature. And thank goodness I'm a writer so I can just remember that it is ALL book fodder for the future. Saved me from losing it many a time. :) Hope the weeks since then have been better!
