Sucked Dry

Okay, so I saw Eclipse at 12:03 AM on Wednesday morning. Have you seen Two Weeks Notice? When Hugh Grant is playing chess with his driver and they're talking about women and the driver says, "You taIk about your feelings until your breath is sucked out your body."

That's how the conversations were in Eclipse. And that's how I feel in general. The breath's been sucked out of my body.

But in a good way.

WriteOnCon opened up for registration yesterday. We had over 360 people register yesterday. It's awesome to feel their enthusiasm.

I've been editing this week. It's the best part of the process (for me), but holy brain cell drainage, Batman.

So I'm sucked dry. And this is the blog post you get because of it. I did buy myself some orange sherbet to aid in the recovery process, and that's what I'm going to spend the holiday weekend doing. What about you? When you're sucked dry, how do you rejuvenate?

And isn't Two Weeks Notice the best movie ever??

Haven't seen it but when I'm sucked dry I have a drink. I hear you though.

Mmm, orange sherbet. I completely know the feeling. Sit under a nice shady tree and do absolutely nothing for at least fifteen minutes, that might help. Don't even think, just zone out.

It really is! My favorite scene is when they're at the restaurant having a regular conversation and, without having to ask, he takes her beets. She takes his ice. Love. Love. Love!

Gggiiirrrlllll I feel you right now. Man, do I. When I'm sucked dry, I literally just do nothing until feeling crawls back into my body. Or I stare. Yeah.

It sounds like you are sucked dry in a kinda good way--if there is such a thing. Not burned out sucked dry, but just tired. So, I say, go for a run, take a bath and read an excellent book. You'll feel rejuvenated in no time. :) I hope you feel filled up in no time!

I read. But I'm not sure about orange sherbert. chocolate peanutbutter icecream is way better. That might help. :)

LOVE Two Weeks Notice. Not sure why I don't own it. Been on a real DVD buying kick lately (to go along with the book obsession). I need more shelves! Arrrgh.

oh and 360 registrations the first day? This is going to be a mammoth conference! woo hoo!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Two weeks notice is the cutest movie!!! I love Sandra Bullock very much, seen all of her movies!

A movie star is bath is in order when I need to rejuvanate... that means candles, champagne and a nice hot bubble bath. I think it's about time I add some sherbet to the mix!

I'm very excited about Write On Con I'm glad to know I was one of the 360 :)

I haven't seen Two Weeks notice, but now I want to.

Sorry you're sucked dry. I'd recommending doing something relaxing and fun. Take a break. July 4th weekend might help.

Orange sherbet. Hmm...me thinks lime, more refreshing. You could even toss a few scoops into a glass of Patron and soda. Good stuff. Enjoy your weekend, E. Take a break. Remember, you always tell us it's okay. ":-)

Yep, I hear you! Have a nice weekend!

I need to dwell more on feelings in my own writing. I think it's a big part of what teens want.

And, I'm happy to report I now have 5 partials out!!! Maybe this fourth book will break through! :)

Hope your revisions are going well. Yea for orange sherbert. I tend to curl up with a good book to rejuvinate. Sweets of course help. Have a great weekend.

When I'm feeling like that the best way to rejuvenate and get back on track is to head to the park, by myself, and just walk. After about an hour I usually feel renewed and ready to tackle anything.

Good luck with your rewrites!

For me it's "While you were sleeping." or "A Walk to Remember" The cheesier the better. Hope you have a great holiday weekend.

While Twilight movies don't do it for me, playing my guitar revives me.

A night out with my girlfriends always rejuvenates me -- and we're going to see Eclipse next weekend. I loved Two Weeks Notice and think she's adorable. Happy Friday!

Yes, Two Weeks Notice is SO good! My favorite part is when Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock are testing out mattresses at the store!! When I'm sucked dry I head for the lake. No phone, no internet... just me the water, the cabin and absolute quiet.

I go for a run or eat chocolate. But since I've torn my quadricep muscles (please please please heal by the weekend), I can only eat chocolate. ;)

Took the wife opening night with some friends. I had a great time, if for no other reason than seeing one of my best guy friends (his wife is a Twihard as well) squirm every time the requisite teen squeal came from an Edward appearance on screen. I'll not mention the slightly creepy grown woman whoop that came from Jacob sightings ...

BTW, I think the link to WriteOn isn't correct. It's taking me to some odd corporate site.

When I'm sucked dry it often doesn't matter what I do, but rather how I go about doing it. The main thing for me is to try to be mindful(aware) that I'm operating at a deficit.

That said, if I can, I try to simplify my life, cut a few things out that I can slowly work back in later. Have a great weekend!!

OMG, Two Weeks Notice IS the best ever-

Sucked dry--LOL. Yeah. It happens. I rejuvenate by taking long bike rides, watching some of my favorite movies, or reading some great books. :-)

Hey, have a GREAT holiday weekend, okay?

Looks like I have a new movie to add to my list...and I don't mean Eclipse...although at some point I'm sure I'll catch that too.

I watch episodes of Sex in the City and drink Kahlua and cream.

Editing here, too. I get it. Or should it be I got it? Or maybe I'll just change the whole thing. Or cut it.

I'm so excited about WriteOnCon! :)

Also, I love Two Weeks Notice. But then, I tend to love Sandra Bullock movies.

Congrats on the reg numbers! Exciting!!!

Vegging out is how I rejuvenate. A night of karaoke awesomeness also helps. It must be the 90s pop songs and the flashing lights. ;)

HAPPY 4TH of July weekend!

I just realized I'm going to be out of town for most or all of the WriteOnCon - without Internet access! I'm so sad at the timing! But I've had everything booked for over 6 months & it's my first vacation in 2 years! :(

Orange sherbet? Gag! Does that even have any fat in it??? I don't think so. You need chocolate... like real ice cream with lots of chocolate chunks or something. That helps perk me up.

*hugs*

Hee hee. A long nap helps me rejuvenate. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have pre-teens. I'm sure I will have to. =)

I love Two Weeks Notice. Sandra B's character is hilarious and perfect and so imperfect too!

Holy Brain cell drainage...I can relate.

I enjoyed Two Weeks notice, but I thought they showed most of the funny stuff in the trailers.

I read to rejuvenate. Or do nothing. :)

Karen Lange said...

Orange sherbet to aid in the recovery process, huh? Never thought of that, but I like it. I'm going to borrow it if you don't mind.
Happy 4th!
Karen :)

Art, all forms, and good conversation surrounded by good coffee and food. I'm heading to the park, now, for Art in the Park! Happy Independence Day!

Glad to hear so many people have already registered for WriteOnCon! I haven't seen Two Weeks Notice, sounds like I must remedy this. I haven't seen Eclipse yet either and am dying to! When I get sucked dry I rejuvenate by seeing a movie or reading a good book. When that isn't enough I go on vacation to a nice, relaxing place! Best of luck on your recovery. The ice-cream should definitely help.
